One Fine Day

Friday, 28 March 2014

After a long (and I mean, LONG) hiatus from blogging, I am back! Apologies for abandoning you - apparently life can get in the way of a lot of things. The biggest news to date is - I'm engaged! With a wedding in September and an engineer husband who likes to look at everything from the perspective of 'logical', bridezilla wedding planning is in full throttle.

Not long ago my friend Rianne and I visited indie wedding fair One Fine Day while they were in Sydney. Needless to say, there was a lot of bunting and an air that pervaded 'rustic chic'. To be completely honest, the fair was a tad disappointing. While it was a real treat to the senses and definitely provided an endless source of inspiration, the majority of the stalls were unobtainable in my budget. I was hoping for more 'hipster chic wedding ideas at a reasonable price tag' but most things were 'I may look DIY but I cost more than your monthly budget'. I guess we were expecting small businesses with big ideas, not typical Sydney wedding businesses you see splashed all over wedding magazines.

The highlight of the day was definitely the bridal catwalk - it was extremely helpful seeing dresses on a human frame. We even saw Rianne's dream dress (Karen Willis Holmes)!

That is all for now, I will be seeing you very soon!

Sophia.
