Me! Apologies for the long absence. Life has inundated me with a million things of late. It's crazy but I'm getting married in two week! TWO weeks! So many mixed emotions right now. I'm feeling excited/stressed/happy/anxious/scared/nervous/ecstatic all at the same time. I will be bringing you wedding and bride/bridesmaid beauty tips once the big day is done and dusted. There is so much to organise in a wedding - it is absolutely manic that I have taken eight months to organise ONE day. Not even one day, merely 10 hours.
Caleb (the husband-to-be) and I played models and did an engagement shoot with our wonderful wedding photographer Dan a while back. Revisiting our university campus, we showed Dan all our secret spots and he photographed us in spaces that were significant in the early days of our relationship. It was a day filled with bittersweet nostalgia as we took a trip down memory lane and remembered all those awkward and joyous moments from the dating days.
The photoshoot itself was such a fun experience - once we got over the compulsory PDA and random Asian tourist taking photos of us whilst we did the said PDA. Ew. I'm extremely grateful that we got to do this because, to all you bride-to-bes out there - your man does not know how to pose. He needs all the practice he can get. Seriously.
Caleb...with his eyes shut. See what I mean?
In front of the camera, men have two expressions: smiling or not smiling. So when he hears the photographer say "look smitten, but yet distant, look like you're longing for her" (in public!), he will pull the most awkward face out of the bag. And trust me, you don't want that on your wedding day. Definitely book an engagement session and teach him how to bring it.
I hope that was helpful and I look forward to putting more beauty/fashion/lifestyle/faith content on this blog in the near future!
Until then!
Sophia.
