All Hail Clinique!

This moisturiser is amaaazing. The old stuff helped me through so many teenage skin sobs: the crater face phase, cystic acne, winter flaky skin, oily t-zone, rosacea and weird rashes from cheap cosmetics.

I know it's not a magic potion but it's the closest thing you can get.

I've been a loyal fan to this scentless butter for as long as I can remember. I was first introduced to it from one of those free trial product vouchers you used to get in Girlfriend magazine. Needless to say, being the stingy Asian I was (and still am), I raced to every local library and ripped the vouchers from their copies...I think I ended up with 4 trials, I'm pretty sure the counter lady recognised me by the second time. (Shout out to Clinique and other beauty brands - advertising and promoting products in magazines WORK, and I am living proof). So the sample trial packs included ridiculously cute mini products from the 3-step program. I ditched the soap and toner and feel in love with the moisturiser. And that's when it became an everyday ritual in my beauty regime.

Now about the product itself - sure, it doesn't contain any actives comparable to cosmeceutical products but it is honestly the most calming, non-irritating and hydrating moisturiser you can get over the counter. It will never penetrate the dermis and make all your troubles disappear but it is effective and a champion everyday product.

It's buttery texture can improve any dry patch and will never leave the skin feeling greasy. When my skin is irritated or going through a rough patch, Dramatically Different calms it down.

So I guess this is a really long and rambly way of expressing my excitement for the new formula. I didn't know it could get better but heck, Clinique found a way. The only thing that makes me sad is that I bought a new bottle of the old stuff 2 months ago...which means I have to wait for 6 months before I can buy the new formula.

And for those mini-dermatologists out there, here's what's in the bottle:
  • Skin barrier strengthening with sunflower seed cake, barley and cucumber extract
  • Hyaluronic acid for hydration (pretty common ingredient...don't be fooled by the big word)
  • Glycerin, another common moisturising agent
  • Urea - improves the skin's natural moisturising function (NMF)
The Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + took 6.5 years to make - worth the wait? Absolutely!

The best thing about it? 125ml for only $49. SO MUCH CHEAPER NOW.

It's so good Sigourney Cantelo (Vogue Beauty Director) wrote a 2 page feature on it in the August Vogue. Her house is probably packed full of it now...

Hey Australia readers - buy it here
