Maybe it was my built up excitement that led to unrealistic expectations, but this year's Chloe was thoroughly disappointing! Clare Waight Keller, the new predecessor of Chloe, played it safe for her initiating collection. Fair enough, she needs stability, not radical uproot, but the safety that was displayed this year was down right boring! The neutral beigey palette with safe stripes achieved her "fluidity and femininity, but boyish," but it also ruined the wonderful shapes and texture Chloe is renowned for creating. Yes, i know she did incorporate shapes and even sheer textures, but they felt forceful and overstatingly bold. I want back the ambiguity, the skin-meshed feminine porcelain pieces that used to sweep the Chloe catwalk!
These were the only ones that caught my eye.
